Engine Removal
• Support the rear part of the swingarm with a stand.
• Squeeze
[A].
the brake lever slowly and hold it with a band
WARNING
Motorcycle may fall over unexpectedly resulting in
an accident or injury. Be sure to hold the front brake
when removing the engine.
NOTICE
Be sure to hold the front brake when removing the
engine, or the motorcycle may fall over. The engine
or the motorcycle could be damaged.
• Drain:
Engine Oil (see Engine Oil Change(2-33))
Coolant (see Coolant Change(2-22))
• Remove:
Lower Fairings (see Lower Fairing Removal(15-11))

• Slide the dust cover [A].
• Remove
[C].
the nut [B] and disconnect the starter motor cable
• Disconnect the water temperature sensor connector [D].
• Open the clamp [A].
• Disconnect the side stand switch connector [B].
