FUEL SYSTEM (DFI) 3-51
Main Throttle Sensor (Service Code 11) (DTC P0120, P0123)
(Checking wire for short circuit to ground)
• Check the wiring for short circuit to ground by check-
ing the continuity between the sensor connector [A] and
frame ground [B].
Wiring Continuity Inspection
Y/W lead (ECU terminal 27) [C] ←→ Frame Ground
If there is continuity, repair or replace the main harness.
If there is no continuity, check the sensor for internal short
circuit.
(Checking sensor for internal short circuit)
• Connect the setting adapter [A] to the sensor connector
only.
Special Tool - Throttle Sensor Setting Adapter: 57001
-1538
• Measure the main throttle sensor resistance.
Main Throttle Sensor Resistance
Connections to Adapter:
Digital Meter (+) → R (sensor BL) lead
Digital Meter (–) → BK (sensor G) lead
Standard: 4 ∼ 6 kΩ
If the reading is out of the standard, replace the throttle
body assy.
Main Throttle Sensor Inspection (Service Code
11/DTC P0123)
(Checking wire for short circuit to power supply wire)
• Remove:
Right Side Cover (see Side Cover Removal in the Frame
chapter)
• Disconnect the main throttle sensor connector and con-
nect the setting adapter [A] between the connectors.
Main Harness [B]
Main Throttle Sensor [C]
Special Tool - Throttle Sensor Setting Adapter: 57001

• Connect a digital meter [D] to the setting adapter leads.
Main Throttle Sensor Output Voltage
Connections to Adapter:
Digital Meter (+) → W (sensor Y/W) lead
Digital Meter (–) → BK (sensor G) lead
• Measure the output voltage with the engine stopped and
with the connector joined.
• Turn the ignition switch on.
Output Voltage
Standard: DC 1.03 ∼ 1.06 V at idle throttle opening
DC 4.13 ∼ 4.52 V at full throttle opening
(for reference)
• Turn the ignition switch off.
