3-82 FUEL SYSTEM (DFI)
Oxygen Sensor (Service Code 33) (DTC P0130, P0132)
• When only the service code is available, follow all inspec-
tion procedures in this section.
• When the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) is available, fol-
low inspection procedures that have the DTC in the head-
line in this section.
Oxygen Sensor Removal/Installation
• Refer to the Oxygen Sensor Removal/Installation in the
Electrical System chapter.
Oxygen Sensor Inspection (Service Code 33/DTC
P0130)
(Checking wire for open circuit)
• Disconnect:
ECU Connectors (see ECU Removal)
Oxygen Sensor Lead Connector (see Oxygen Sensor
Removal in the Electrical System chapter)
• Check the wiring for continuity between the ECU harness
connector and sensor connector.
Wiring Continuity Inspection
ECU Harness Connector [A] ← →
Oxygen Sensor Connector [B]
BL/Y lead (ECU terminal 8) [C]
If there is no continuity, repair or replace the main har-
ness.
If there is continuity, check the oxygen sensor leads for
open circuit (see Oxygen Sensor Circuit).
If there is no continuity, repair or replace the main har-
ness.
(Checking wire for short circuit to ground)
• Check the wiring for short circuit to ground by checking
continuity between the sensor connector [A] and frame
ground [B].
Wiring Continuity Inspection
BL/Y lead (ECU terminal 8) [C] ← → Frame Ground
If there is continuity, repair or replace the main harness.
If there is no continuity, check the wiring for short circuit to
ground by checking continuity between the oxygen sen-
sor [A] and frame ground [B].
Wiring Continuity Inspection
BL lead [C] ← → Frame Ground
If there is continuity, replace the oxygen sensor.
If there is no continuity, check the oxygen sensor output
voltage (see Oxygen Sensor Output Voltage Inspection
(Service Code 33/DTC P0130, P0132)).
